Gel Polish love x
We get asked a lot what we use for nails etc so I thought I’d share one of our fave products with you all!
Over the years I’ve used many brands of gel polish- shellac, gelish, OPI gel etc. But recently in the past year and a bit I’ve found the Pure nails brand Halo gel polish and I love it!the huge selection of colours they have (think we’ve got mostπ) is amazing and leaves no client feeling like they’ve got limited choice. Even the name of the colours are fun and easy to remember for your clients.
The application of the gel is fab too as it goes on easily with only a couple colours needing 3 coats the rest only take 2 which brings your time down. The glitter polishes they have are definitely one of the best and most sparkly out of all the brands in my opinion!
Don’t get me wrong we use other brands too but I would say Pure nails Halo is one of the best I’ve worked with.
They also do a great range of hard builder gels that we use instead of an acrylic overlay on natural nails, I feel it is just as strong for the client and gives the feel of protection. The builder gel is pretty thick but once you get the hang of it it’s easy to use.
Our 10 easy steps of a gel polish:
1. Remove any old nail polish/gel polish on the nail
2. Do cuticle work- push and nip
3. File the nail to clients preferred shape and length
4. Buff the top layer of the nail with a white block buffer
5. Prime the nail- we use salon systems acidic primer (Sally’s)
6. Apply gel polish base coat- we use either Halo or Gelish base coat
7. Apply 2 colour coats of gel polish and any glitters/nail arts
8. Apply top coat- again we use either Halo or Gelish
9. Wipe the sticky layer off the nails- we use salon systems finishing wipe
10. Complete with rubbing oil into the clients cuticle and nail bed
Then of course we take a pic!
We’d love to hear what sort of products everyone else uses and see if there is something we might be needing in our lives!!
